Welcome!
I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Toulouse School of Economics and also serve as an Academic Project Manager at the Financial Inclusion Through Interoperability Initiative. I obtained a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2022 where I was supervised by Prof. Erik Eyster.
I use lab and field experiments to study how suboptimal decisions people make are related to cognitive factors such as attention, salience, and incorrect mental models.
My research on household finance investigates why borrowers make their repayments suboptimally, what type of consumer protection policies are effective in restoring rational choice, and why unbanked consumers and merchants fail to adopt digital wallets in a developing country context.
In another line of theory-oriented research, I test how people with misspecified mental models learn their environment and identify mental accounting from choice data using revealed preference methods.
